Effective implementation of the European Energy Management Standard EN16001
EN16001-UK-01 : Taking place on the 27, 28 & 29 of October in Conference Aston, Birmingham. Cost: £750 (2 Days) and £1,050 (3 Days)
EN 16001 is the European Standard for Energy Management, launched in 2009. The aim of the standard is to establish a systematic approach for reducing energy consumption. The standard specifies the requirements for continuous improvement through using energy more efficiently. An organisation that implements the standard will gain a full understanding of their energy consumption, the factors driving such consumption and set achievable reduction targets, in line with relevant industry best practices. When the system is mature, energy management becomes integrated into day-to-day responsibilities and activities. Attendees have the option of the 2 day course covering all aspects of putting into place an effective energy management system within an organisation including planning energy management, implementation and monitoring improvement. The purpose of the training is to ensure that the system implemented is with a view towards maximizing energy improvements with minimum beuracracy whilst meeting the requirements of the standard, this effective implementation. Course attendees also have a further option to attend a final day's workshop on actual implementation of EN16001 within sample organisations. Attendees will develop the action plan to implement EN16001 on sample organisations where relevant information is provided and instructors will engage in role playing of the organisation key personnel. Here attendees will see first-hand the typical errors made in implementation of the standard through the final course wrap up where the groups will present and discuss the findings. (Attendance on day 3 is limited).
Certified Energy Manager Training Course, (CEM®)

Since it's inception in 1981, the Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) credential has become widely accepted and used as a measure of professional accomplishment within the energy management field. The Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) Qualification is awarded by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), a nonprofit making professional society of 9,500 members in 73 countries with their head quarters in the USA. Eirdata, an Irish Energy Management Consultancy company has been appointed by the Association of Energy Engineers to present their Certified Energy Management (CEM®) training and certification courses in Ireland on their behalf. The course is run over 2 3-day periods with the last day consisting mainly of an open book examination.
